The Civilization Loop is the end result of years of researching and studying. Everything from television shows, to internet exploration, to movies and books helped to shape the story that has now become a novel. Time travel has always been at the heart of every human beings fascination. People young and old have often debated, what would it be like to travel through time? What would it be like to see the future? What would it be like to witness the past?

Indeed, these same issues are at the very heart of The Civilization Loop. What if you went back in time and discovered that the civilizations of the past were originally created by people from the future? Our future in the here and now? People have long debated how some of the earliest civilizations on Earth were ever begun. From the Egyptians, to the Aztecs, Summarians, Babylonians, Olmecs, Mayans, all the way to our civilization of today. These civilizations contained some of the most impressive knowledge and fortitude that rivals that of the people that inhabit the Earth in our time. The only question is, where did that knowledge come from?

Was it aliens? Was there an earlier civilization more powerful than our own today? Was it people from the mythical City of Atlantis? Or, could it have been us, from today? What a paradox that would create to believe that people from our current civilization, here and now, might have started the civilization of Atlantis. But, the real question is not if they started it, but why? Why would anyone from the future feel the need to travel back in time to create civilization in the first place? Perhaps that is a question we would prefer not to have answered!

History has seen its share of prophecies. From Nostradamus, to Edgar Cayce, to Jesus Christ, to the Holy Bible itself. A large number of these predictions have come true and many have not. But, almost every major religion and prophet have predicted an "End Times" scenario the likes of which have never occurred in human history. We are fast approaching another prophetic moment, the year 2012.

With every new millenium comes the prospect of cataclysmic disaster that could threaten humanity's existence. Is it morbid curiosity, or is there true cause for alarm? The Mayan Calendar, which is receiving as much fame as alarm, seems to point out the date 21 December 2012 A.D. as a grand time of some type of unbelieveable event. Could it be disaster? Could it be enlightenment? Could it be winter? We will not know until we have traveled into the future to see this year come and know first hand what will happen. Wouldn't a time machine come in handy right about now?

Of course people want to know the future before it comes, but revisiting the past is much more enjoyable. Why is there a desire to see what has already happened? Maybe because some scientists feel it simply is not possible to travel backwards in time. But, what if you could? What if you could go back in time and find out just how all of this history began. Who truly was at the Garden of Eden? Was there a Great Flood? Who really built the Pyramids and Sphinx of Egypt? Where did Stonehenge come from? What really killed the dinosaurs? Did aliens really crash in Roswell, New Mexico, or did something else? Where did Area 51 come from? We may never know the answers to these questions, but it is my firm belief that if we had the opportunity to revisit the past, we might be shocked by what we find!

Now, with the dawn of another prophetic voice possibly coming to fulfillment, man has unlocked the greatest mystery of all time. Time travel is possible and once it starts, can it ever be stopped? Dr. Robert Peterson is the lead researcher for a time team of unbelieveable intellect and unforgettable personalities. These dedicated men and women serve as the cornerstone of faith, prosperity, hope and salvation. Without the time team, humanity's fate maybe sealed for all time. So join them, take the journey of a lifetime and witness the birth of civilization. Because the greatest mystery of all time is not the pyramids, its not the Mayan calendar, its not even Christ Himself. My name is Jason Richard Thrift. I am a local resident of Anderson, SC. I have lived there for nearly my entire life, living a few years in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. For years now I have wanted to write stories that I hoped would captivate the imaginations of people far and wide. Until 2006, I had never actually written a story down I had thought of on paper since grade school. But, last year, I decided it was time to try and test my wits to see if I could come up with an entertaining story. Much to my delight, not only one publishing company, but two became interested in the story that was to become The Civilization Loop.

Janie Jones is the artist that designed the conceptual version of the book cover for The Civilization Loop.

A local resident of Anderson, SC, she has dabbled in artistic prowess for sometime now and is currently working on other ideas of her own and for future stories I intend to submit for publication.
